“Every day, residents of the Sugar Valley Neighborhood—many of them seniors—take a risk just pulling out of their own community. At the corner of Airport Blvd. and Dulcimer St., where there’s only a stop sign, cars race down the road with little regard for those waiting to turn. For our seniors especially, what should be a simple trip to the store or doctor’s office becomes a moment of fear.
But just one block away, at the park entrance at the Park , a traffic light already exists—providing safe, controlled access to the same roadway. What if our neighborhood could connect directly to that safer exit? What if instead of danger, hesitation, and close calls, Sugar Valley residents had peace of mind every time they left their homes?
This is not just a matter of convenience—it’s about safety, dignity, and quality of life. Today, we’re here to share a plan to create an alternate entrance and exit that will protect our residents, prevent accidents before they happen, and make our community stronger.”
